42 by Setting Suns DC: Review
Karl and Gayle Moore are responsible for the songwriting and production of the EP โ42,โ which was released by Setting Suns DC in 2022. Each song is a contemplation on growing older as well as the shifts that take place in our lives as time passes, and they were all composed while Ireland was coming out of its period of lockdown.
Setting Suns DCโs sound is mostly based around Indie Rock. Their instrumentation with guitars, bass guitar, and drums is exceptional. I had a merry experience listening to their EP โ42โ. Now about the track list analysis โ
Tempe (Forever The City Remains) โ Beautiful, thought-provoking, and sensational track with lovely guitar riffs and vocal arrangements. Also, the bass sounds like fire! I truly enjoyed the ending of the song where the singer just stretches their voice out for a while. Thereโs also a Radio edit in the EP!
Holding On โ Delightful cinematic intro with the guitars and bass sounds absolutely epic. The thumping bass is just a perfect mix. The vocals here are more mysterious. The guitar solo was powerful and otherworldly.
Lilies โ A calmer track than the others. A jangly acoustic guitar plays in the background with electric distortions accompanying the other guitars. The singerโs voice is more baritone here.
These Arms โ Some fresh tunes by the piano add a great mixture to the bandโs indie rock tone. The guitar notes and singing are very catchy, and itโs a sensational song to get lost in.
Passing Satellites โ A fierce guitar solo, and an overall energetic song. There are some special vocal phrases here that resonate quite beautifully. Itโs a bit on the pop side, but the rock elements connected rather exceptionally with the entire song.
