JIRO released fiery song ‘Anthill’
JIRO is a molotov cocktail, a mix of antagonistic emotions, a quest for meaning in the new millennium’s false pretense. Covid 19’s release shuts down the five musicians’ artistic careers, and their future is uncertain. In a moment of doubt, they record ‘Resilience’. This fully auto-produced project explores the musicality of their instruments to create powerful, nuanced music. Two guitar virtuosos leave few options: Heavy, crushing, thunderous. The band’s riff is an exact science that fools no one. JIRO uses hardcore and metal to build power, while stoner and progressive parts clarify the lyrics.
With a clear voice, the band breaks from metal standards to offer a contrasting interpretation. Sharp, direct choruses. Vocal and guitar harmonies are in the band’s DNA to balance one another. If you get carried away by atmosphere, the next bar will sweep you away.
JIRO, a sound aesthete, is socially detached. Having to fight for a better world is becoming unbearable. The band is like a surfer waiting for the perfect wave. Themes include introspection, spiritual quest, and overcoming adversity.
Some emotions are hard to express with words, but music brings them to life. JIRO captures this phenomenon with sincerity and accuracy. No banner: “Art for art”
