Bruised Gold by Luna Waves: Album Review

Filled with the grace of indie music with a touch of psychedelic, artist Luna Waves captures the essence of slow rock and chilled-out mood music in their album titled “Bruised Gold”. Each piece has a fine layer of trippy tunes that can strike a groove with you for sure.

“Lemondaze Slow Burn” is an atmospheric number filled with reverbed vocals and a magical guitar piece that has a vibing tempo to it. The entire song feels like a dream sequence with some subtle percussion pieces and bass lines to keep the song flowing smoothly. Moving on to tracks such as “Send a Wish on the Shore” gave the album a happy ascension. Striking the right balance between psychedelic synthesizers, and Tame Impala tributed vocals, Luna Waves initiates a very refreshing mix of mind-bending indie rock on this number. In “Ready to Survive” the melancholy hits hard with a peaceful but dark rhythm piece. Incorporating drone-like keys and stellar transitions that switch from ambient to a more pop-infused tune, the song has a wonderful hook! Especially the bridge section where the guitars and keys just match together to form a wonderful funky interlude.

We end the album with tracks such as “Nocturnal Teens” and “Sun Dappled Clouds”. Both of them had a remarkable ode, and wholesome instrumentation, and formed a soulful melodic experience. The former felt like a bright melody with celestial-style synths mixed in with a melancholic story unfolding, while the latter was a slow descent into ambiance with vintage guitar rhythms and some effects to carry it forward.
