Paul Hodes and The Blue Buddha Band released melodic new single ‘The Flame’
Paul Hodes, a well-known songwriter, recently discussed the inspiration for their hit song ‘The Flame’. The song, which was originally written a few years ago, can be found on the group’s most recent album, ‘Turn This Ship Around’.
In a recent interview, Paul admitted that as a songwriter, inspiration can strike in peculiar situations and through peculiar channels. For ‘The Flame’, inspiration struck over a candlelit dinner on a summer evening. He was startled by the moth’s fascination with the flame as it began darting in and around a candle. He almost immediately knew the first line of the song, “a moth drawn to you like a flame.”
Paul acknowledges that the song was written during a time when he was writing about love gone wrong, despite the fact that the song’s initial inspiration came from a romantic environment. But ‘The Flame’ has struck a chord with viewers everywhere and has grown popular.
The song has received praise from listeners for its moving lyrics and memorable melody, making it a standout track on the album. The band’s standing as a force in the music business has been further enhanced by ‘The Flame’.
