Hereโs a beat you donโt hear every day. No, not EDM beats and no synths. Itโs your ordinary drum beat, with cymbals sounding zestier and punkier than anything you have ever heard. Thereโs a good chance you havenโt heard anything similar unless you are into 80s music. We are talking about Jon Henriโs new single, Gravity, which dropped just on the 6th of this March. If you are into trip-pop, punk-pop, and funky music, we bet our pockets on this number to get you grooving into an old-school dance right away.
There is a nice R&B and jazzy feel about this alternative rock song that happens to really fit in with the naturally high and pitchy head voice of Jon Henri. You can also tell that heโs stretching his throat with the high edge when singing, so it sounds emphatic without trying.
And while the song may commence with a striking ensemble of cymbals and drum beats, they get combined with a funky electric guitar tune. Henri doesnโt leave the synthesizer out, either. Retro patterned synth waves are used all throughout his musical piece Gravity,โ alongside the cymbals, percussion, and guitars. The bass being low and hard, Henri ensures his song stays grounded both instrumentally and vocally.
With Henriโs high timbre and consistent tempo, he creates an ecosystem for a sing-along. โGravityโ becomes an anthem for karaoke bars to jam to. You donโt need a good voice or a good grip on your musical instrument. Just grab the mic and sing to it. Henri might just bring people together with his number, โGravity.โ
