Karen Salicath Jamali’s latest album, Dreams of Angels, is a mesmerizing 16-track journey into celestial realms, released on November 22, 2024. Known for her evocative artistry as a composer and pianist, Karen’s work offers an unfiltered connection to angelic energies, weaving themes of courage, peace and divinity.
Every piece on this album was recorded in a single take one morning on her 80-year-old Steinway grand piano. With a Roland recorder and a Neumann microphone, Karen captured each composition as it was intuitively received. The album, mastered by PARMA Recordings, honors angels and draws listeners into a sacred and transcendent soundscape.
The opening track, “ArchAngel Metatron (The Angel of Life),” sets a contemplative tone with gentle piano flows, restrained yet imbued with purpose. “Angel Uriel (The Angel of Truth)” introduces soft flickering piano tones layered with deeper, harmonious notes, creating a delicate interplay reminiscent of an elegant dance. “Angel Gabriel’s Halo” ripples with a predictable, grounded serenity, its tones evocative of a calm, weathered day.
In “Angel Raziel (The Angel of Clarity),” mystical currents and vivid undercurrents of piano invite reflection, while “Angel Ariel (The Angel of Nature)” radiates a transcendent glow. The rippling melodies and lighter tones emulate sunlight breaking through leaves, illuminating fields with an almost otherworldly beauty.
Karen’s near-death experience in 2012 marked the beginning of her extraordinary musical journey. A seasoned visual artist for over 30 years, she discovered an innate ability to compose, leading to over 2,500 compositions and prestigious performances at Carnegie Hall.
