E.N.E.R.GY by Dee & d’Z: Review
Bernadette Dengler and Hans-Peter de Zeeuw form the sensational Nu-Jazz act Dee & d’Z. Their music is a combination of contemporary big band music merged with soulful vocal passages. Together, both artists create a fantastic blend of music that takes us on a ride worth remembering. Such is the essence of the song “E.N.E.R.GY,” and wait till you hear it, folks. It’s a flavorful mix of timbres that engages your senses.
As funky as musical intros go, Dee & d’Z owned the stage with the entry to “E.N.E.R.GY.” It initiates with Dengler’s confident vocals gracing the tune, while a jazzy ensemble follows before her. Hans-Peter de Zeeuw’s instrumental variety is unmistakably evident, and the entire vibe generated signs of a jazz veteran. Every drum roll and beat is a precision masterclass, and the brass sections evoke a groovy tempo. But keeping all that thrill intact is a rhythmic piano piece that’s always present and is the main skeleton of the track. Without it, the instrumental cadence would have felt empty as it moved about the melody. Thus, such an integral role was portrayed beautifully!
Folks, if you enjoy jazz music with a modern twist and a killer guitar solo, then please don’t miss out on the music of Dee & d’Z! Their track “E.N.E.R.GY” is available for streaming, so head over and check it out! It’s a fine nu-jazz piece that’ll certainly catch your attention.
