A Day Of Gourmet by TienYinMen: Review

TienYinMen is a heavenly band with deep roots in Chinese music. Their track ‘A Day Of Gourmet’ is a sublime masterpiece filled with happiness and instrumental interconnection. This is probably one of the best songs I’ve heard in a while. Thus, I feel truly blessed and honored to have been graced with such a talented group of individuals. This is the true essence of music! ‘A Day Of Gourmet’ features a masterful arrangement from Chinese flutes, the ‘erhu’ which is a Chinese bow instrument, piano, some percussions, and what I think is the Guzheng a Chinese stringed instrument. With the combination of all these instruments, TienYinMen has composed a magical melody.

Overall, the song is very pleasant to the ears. As a soulful musician myself, I take immense joy in listening to world music and fusion music. With that being said, after hearing ‘A Day Of Gourmet’ I felt like a lightbulb turned on inside my head and brightened my entire day. The track features beautiful arrangements from the guzheng, the erhu, and flutes too as I have mentioned before.

All the rhythmic elements existing in the song have a very cinematic effect. When the flutes hit the higher notes it brings out a unique transition as all the other instruments follow through. The erhu portions are very heartwarming, and those transitions and scale changes are simply marvelous. How the piano and bass followed through with all the other oriental instruments was really impressive. Thus, with that being said I’m now a huge fan of TienYinMen, and will proceed to hear all of their music.
