Adrift by Chord Fiction: Review
The Five-piece EP “Adrift” by “Chord Fiction” will make you feel adrift across the romantic blue waves of life. With brilliant guitar strums and shifts from David Tom and Fremont-based singer and songwriter David Salazar dropping smooth beats to create 15 minutes and 22 seconds of standalone organic sounds that ripple a soothing quality.
The songs are “What to Do”, “Nowhere to Go”, “Mighty the Fool”, “Life is Just a Sea” featuring Emma Varley and “Kiss the Ground” each convey a story of their own with feel-good tunes and foot-tapping and head-bobbing beat of the drums, making the titles befitting. If you lsten closely, you will find the intrinsic attention to detail in the lyrics accompanied by ethereal tunes. Although there are musical differences between the tracks, you can expect to experience the same level of tranquility over the hypnotic vocals of David throughout the 5 songs. Not to mention, the delicate addition of Emma Varley’s silky voice in “Life is Just a Sea” gives off incredible chemistry. It makes you want to experience a golden sunset by the sea with the person of your dreams.
If life is nothing but an aimless and lonely lane to tread, it’s time to take sit back and play this album as it sends you to amazing destinations, from the ocean to the sky, and back to earth with a newfound love to carry on in life.
