Alas de Liona released exciting new song ‘Spirals’
Alas de Liona is a native of a tiny settlement in the Mojave Desert. She creates original lyrical and melodic experiences with a dreamlike songwriting sensibility. She started to establish a reputation for herself performing in pubs while she was a resident of the city. A shift in emphasis from live performance to writing and recording new music was required as a result of Covid-19 lockdowns and the cessation of all live music. After graduating and being released from the demands of academia, Alas started to pursue her musical dreams by moving back to Edinburgh in late 2020 to record the ‘Radio Astronomy’ EP with producer Rod Jones at Post Electric, Leith, which was later made available in summer 2022. The EP is a collection of space lullabies and cosmic folktales.
Alas also collaborated with her band to record two brand-new songs at Rod Jones’ Post Electric Studios in Leith. The first ‘Vortices’ was made available on October 14th, and the second ‘Spirals’ was made available on November 11th. Alas is presently in her native California, but she intends to travel back to Scotland in April 2023 for additional recordings and live performances the rest of the following year.
