Alexandre Elias has been putting all of his effort into his solo work as a guitarist, producer, and composer since 2019. He combines instrumental hip-hop, beats, and modern jazz.
The lead single from his upcoming album ‘A New Day’, which will be distributed by DasGo DMS, is ‘Ain’t no Sunshine’. The iconic Bill Withers song sounds like cool jazz in Alexandre’s rendition, with the guitar singing the theme through surreal electronic textures. This song’s recording idea came to me very naturally. Elias decided to learn more about the composer because he had always enjoyed the song. Then, after hearing the album ‘Just as I am’, he developed a deep admiration for Bill Withers’ compositions. The original plan was to record an entire album of only songs by this artist, but since ‘A New Day’ was already in the recording studio, it was decided to record just this particular song.
