The Washington, DC-based group recently announced a new five-year record deal with their existing label, Sumerian Records, and Parrhesia, which means โfree speechโ in Greek, is the first fruit of the new arrangement. Itโs the bandโs first new material in five years.
โItโs funny, I remember when djent was a joke and not at all a legitimate thing, โTosin Abbasi recently told Prog. โI believe Animals As Leaders fits easily into the progressive metal/djent genre, but we want to do so much more, and I believe a lot of what Animals As Leaders tries to accomplish is defying categorization.โ
