Another Day by Blindness & Light: Review
The solo artist Colin M. Potter released his single โAnother Dayโ very recently. His song bears a resemblance to R.E.M., Radiohead, and other cool bands. Itโs a mellow and grungy song that starts off with synth and keyboard, then eases into acoustic guitar rhythm, even more with a slightly overdriven guitar strum.
Aside from the instruments, the vocal quality is distinctive, reminding me of Radioheadโs vocalist: a little swing, a little loose but powerful nevertheless. Furthermore, when the drums kick in with all the other instruments, it makes the song full and wholesome and will take you on a musical journey. The songโs lyrics talk about being with a chaotic person or being in a toxic relationship with someone you love and cannot be without, and in time you get absorbed into their lifestyle.
The inspirations for the band Blindness & Light are the Smiths, Joy Division, 60s garage, indie, and many more. The band hasnโt played anywhere so far, and the song was recorded on the east side of Anglesey and produced by Tony Denmade.
The song โAnother Dayโ by Blindness & Light is heartfelt, introspective, honest, and sincere. Also, many of us have been in this type of toxic relationships, even though it is hard to talk about, and sooner or later people do get sucked into the negativity of the toxic relationship and almost turn toxic themselves or start thinking this is actually healthy. People who have experienced the toxicity of a relationship can very much relate to the song.
