Atusji released enticing new song ‘You Can Always Call Me’
On March 16, 2023, a new single by Atusji was released. Atusji’s ‘Soapbox Trilogy’ (1x EP and 2 albums from 2019–2021) dealt with difficult emotions related to chronic depression and the need to vent, whereas his new material (exemplified by ‘You Can Always Call Me’) seeks to share that there are solutions and that there is hope – and to hopefully share the message that everything can be better and that we can be there for one another. Despite how sweet it may sound, it is extremely serious.
Terkel Atsushi R. Christensen is a Danish-Japanese artist who works alone under the moniker Atusji. He currently creates indie-pop that combines elements of Billy Idol, Frank Ocean, Harry Styles, and orchestral indie from the early 2010s. Atusji was recently listed by journalist Susan Hansen in as one of five Copenhagen acts to know, and his two prior singles from the year 2022, ‘Copenhagen’ and ‘Everything’s Not Broken’, received favorable reviews from Clash, The Line of Best Fit, London In Stereo, and other publications. The autumn of 2023 will see the release of an EP that includes this upcoming single.
