Awake at Night by Andrea Ward: Review
Andrea Ward is a promising musician from New York City, whose elegant track โAwake at Nightโ pays proper tribute to ambient escapism. The experimental and vibrant melodic arrangement of the track was interesting to hear, and I believe will definitely resonate with the artistic nature of an abundance of creators.
The handpan is an instrument truly close to my heart. Ever since I heard the sound of this musical tool, my mind went bonkers. Completely in awe at how mysterious and calming the sound is, it was even more special when I got to play the instrument myself. So, you can understand my appreciation for Andreaโs track when the handpan was a special part of it. Aside from that, the singer displays a meditative aura that is pleasant to hear. From an artistic standpoint, she doesnโt follow the usual tropes of pop or rock, but rather a more avant-garde style that mixes with the instrumentโs ebb and flow. The same can be understood from the percussion pieces as well, which donโt really have a fixed time signature, but rather a series of beats.
From my point of view, โAwake at Nightโ by Andrea Ward is a dreamy number filled with an atmospheric personality. This is where the minimal guitar notes connect beautifully with the atmospheric convergence of the other instruments. They seem to align in a carefully structured sequence, and the result is a reflective melody.
