Beware Wolves, Vol. 3 by Beware Wolves: Album Review
The indie-folk/Americana scene has an abundance of talented artists pertaining to that faithful genre. One such artist that always brings me comfort to hear and review is Beware Wolves. So, the album entitled “Beware Wolves, Vol. 3” encompasses familiar and delightful acoustic melodies that the artist is renowned for.
The vocal presence of Beware Wolves has a vintage touch and is quite moving. Opening up with tracks such as “For the Love of You”, I got the vibe of folk music from the 60s, blended with acoustic guitar elements reminiscent of delta blues. There’s something about upbeat folk tunes and the clarity one receives while on the road. With that being said, the rhythmic flow of “Good Ride” is perfect for those long expeditions where you need a soundtrack to keep your mind at bay. The track has a nice blues rock-inspired chord structure, and the singer infuses his voice with a tension that maintains the highs and lows brilliantly. The album’s celestial vibes are felt in the dreamy folk track “Goodbye Starry Evening.” Incorporating subtle vocal harmonies and a pleasant drive from the guitar, it’s truly one of the best ones out of the album.
The ending track entitled “Heaven & Earth” is an interesting one that feels like a passionate ode. Poetry in music is vital, and Beware Wolves’ ability to connect with an audience through soothing lyrics and melodies was quite satisfying to hear. Honestly, the last number was an emotional way to exit the album, this is because you could feel it within the singer’s voice, he truly meant every word.
