Black Cat by Dani Twice: Review
The hypnotic new single by Dani Twice “Black Cat” is a percussion-heavy rap song that was released in late October. It’s the seventh single and a highly anticipated follow-up after the critically acclaimed “Sad Boy” establishes the artist as an up-and-coming Latin act.
The song’s eerie piano and piercing percussion provide a foundation for Dani’s expressive use of tempo and tone to convey the depth of feelings and impulses. If you were wondering why the title “Black Cat”, the artist intrigues with a vivid description of death and a black cat’s existence, known for bringing bad luck in many cultures as a superstition. By the half-time markup of the hip hop-driven track, there are some additive sounds that add an element of organic touch to Dani’s creation.
And once again, my only complaint about the sweeping lush ballad “Black Cat” is how quickly it ends. There’s nothing that this Tampa-based artist can’t do – with fresh flows, witty lyrics, and a theme in mind, Dani can be groovy, and eclectic while leaving you longing for some more hits. After releasing back-to-back thrillers, Dani Twice is an artist to look out for in the coming years.
