Buckeye State by Kristen Grainger & True North: Review

โBuckeye Stateโ, by Kristen Grainger and True North, uses music to convey the artistโs emotional response to a devastating occurrence. The acoustic guitar melodies are relaxing, with the singerโs skill and ability allowing the songs to take on a sentimental depth through her voice.
The muted acoustic guitar chords have a free, and pleasant-sounding melody. It is because of this soothing presence, that the songโs instrumental background has a lovely atmosphere. It ultimately gives off a sincere, and indie vibe to it. The singer has a cathartic musical ability that may make your heart feel both heartbroken and homely at the same time. Itโs the kind of tune that causes listeners to hush up and maybe even well up with tears due to the intensity of the music. When the singer poured her all into her singing, it sounded amazing since the lyrics actually meant something. It was like bandaging a wound and witnessing the injured person heal from the inside out, all within the context of a harmonious mix.
In the face of danger, and the overcoming burden of facing an obstacle, it is human nature to seek comfort through any means necessary. When artists discover that sentiment and are able to humanize a melody so that it reaches our pained hearts, the result is seldom futile. โBuckeye Stateโ is one such track that manages to speak of trauma and soothe the ache with a beautiful tune.
