Cara Van Thorn Releases Catchy new song ‘When I Take My Eyelashes Off (You Forget That I’m Pretty)’
With songs that draw from swing, indie pop, Motown, rock, electronic dance music (EDM), and more, ‘The Way I Hear It in My Head’ defies easy categorization into one genre. The most recent single from the album, ‘When I Take My Eyelashes Off (You Forget That I’m Pretty)’, conceals a more somber exploration of industry sexism beneath its upbeat swing vibe.
‘The Way I Hear It in My Head’, the second full-length album by Cara Van Thorn, was released on Friday, October 21st, and is now marketed internationally. This comes after the 2020 debut EP ‘Coco Can’t Turn Left’ and the holiday-themed album ‘Cara Van Claus’ from the previous year. The album also includes drum tracks by Rom Gov and piano compositions by Tyler Olfers in addition to the core band members. Everything from the upbeat big band-inspired ‘Whatever It Takes’ to the neo-folk ballad ‘Don’t’ to the girl power anthem ‘Gone’ can be found on ‘The Way I Hear it in My Head’.
