Repeat crashes back onto the scene with “Celebrate,” with lives up to its name by exploding with raw energy and unfiltered emotion. Released on May 16th via TH Records and distributed through Aloaded, “Celebrate” tears right in with blistering guitar riffs and a thundering rhythm section like a sprint through back-alley punk clubs.
This track marks the band’s first release since their well-received live shows across Sweden and Germany, and it’s clear Repeat has returned with battle scars and a sharpened edge. Produced by the ever-reliable Joakim Lindberg at Malmö’s Studio Sickan, the song balances the band’s signature grit with more intricate layers.
“Celebrate” is as much a cathartic scream as it is a melodic rally cry. The vocals arrive like an passionate, urgent and soaring jolt while the percussion drives with a wild but calculated force. Beneath the distortion, there’s an emotional tug: lyrics tapping into that frenzied liminal space where desperation can feel like liberation. As Repeat puts it, they wanted something “bigger and more melodic without losing the energy,” and that mission is definitely accomplished.
The upcoming EP, also titled Celebrate, promises more of the same fierce clarity with five tracks of no-frills, emotionally loaded punk built for both the mosh pit and the midnight breakdown. With “Celebrate” leading the charge, the stage is set for an EP that might just be their most distilled and dangerous work yet. If this single is the spark, September’s release might be the explosion.
