Correct Picture Color by The Screaming Pope: Album Review
George Bolton is an electronic artist and is the mind behind The Screaming Pope. Their style of music has an interesting combination of 80’s electro-funk, and a bit of ambient too. Altogether, the album “Correct Picture Color” comes into form, and it’s a wonderful voyage of music that any EDM fan would enjoy undertaking.
“Accidental Mullet” is a smooth start to the album, with silky rhythm bits and a thumping beat keeping our attention. Aside from that, a serene vocal section is active and blends excellently with the melody. The next number “Clouds Without Water” has more energy with jamming percussions and a funky bassline. In addition to that, the synths are pretty vibrant too! “Scrub-A-Dub” brings nature’s sound into the picture, through atmospheric noises. You can feel the jungle in your ears, and electronic timbres coming to life through guitars, basslines, and a groovy beat. That sensational aspect continues in “The Mountains,” albeit with more psychedelia added in. The traditional electro-beat does a switch for bongos, and trippy synths join the fun. What makes things even wilder is how spiritual and catchy the track feels. Apart from that, it brings you close to the environment through its atmospheric noises.
“Desert Heat” is a soothing electro-ambient song with graceful vocals and a clean rhythm section. There’s a rather adventurous aspect to the track, that makes you feel like wandering through the wilderness in search of enlightenment. Top stuff!
