Cristal Meteor is what you would describe as a passion project of the French pianist and composer, Joris BON.
The song begins with a gentle but heavy piano melody accompanied by delicate keys. And suddenly as the music imbues itself, a heavy beat drops shattering the semblance of what would be a classic composition. And there he pours more and more electronic influences into his piano piece with the beat staying consistent as the piano flows.
The electronic beat doesnโt play to its own beat, however. The piano plays along, the lighter keystrokes dance to the contemporary and the piece loosens up with the contemporary dynamics. Like a modern musical background, you hear the composition turn more intense with every beat. The dances become louder, and the piano sings itself with a voice of its own. True to its color, the direction feels distinctive.
As the song progresses, the piano becomes more expressive and emotional, playing with different rhythms and chords that create contrast and tension. The name โCristal Meteorโ has an inference that can help you imagine the directions, intensification and atmospheric falls of the music.
With a captivating melody comes captivating imagery. As with all music, every piece and within it, every beat tells a story. While you may recreate your own imagination and perception from the music with no words to limit your creativity. BON apparently imagined a man and woman gaining familiarity amidst a pouring rainstorm and falling in love with deep passion.
Listen to โCristal Meteorโ by Joris BON to experience music through contemporary classic lenses.
