Curtains & Swift Knuckle Solution Live at The Danger Room: Review
Bands Curtains and Swift Knuckle Solution take their punk rock and alternative rock anthems to the extreme at the Danger Room event. Both bands showcased intense and energetic performances, where their non-stop guitar and drum arrangements are worthy of admiration indeed!
The setlist was packed with tracks emitting a raw rock appeal. This is because the band just went right into it, and kept the music at the forefront. โScatteredโ had some experimental guitar fillers, but over time had a very Green Day meets Sum41 appeal about it all. Something about the powerful distorted guitar made me reminisce about concert halls from my youth pertaining to a similar nature. As a band, Swift Knuckle Solution has a very vintage punk rock appeal to them, the vocalistโs edge and tone really brought out that rebellious vibe to the entire thing. Their tracks โTake The Rideโ as well as โBonham And Moonโ are filled with gritty instrumental sections and fast-paced solos to make up for one hell of a mosh-pit to surface in any show they arrive in. I particularly enjoyed the bass interlude followed by a tasty riff in โBonham And Moonโ, it was a solid performance overall!
Both the bands showcased incredible spirit in the name of rock and roll. The drummer of Curtains had a more alternative rock vibe to it with the time signatures, while the drummer of Swift Knuckle Solution just went all out on the punk rock angle. Putting both these instrumentalists together in the same arena must have been a treat to witness.
