DALE Releases New Rock Single ‘Treading Water’
Will Dailey is a songwriter and producer who has worked with up-and-coming artists like NOTD, kenzie, Mothica, and Heather Sommer on songs that have received over 20 million Spotify streams. He has received praise for his own solo project, DALE, from publications like gems & secrets and college radio. DALE won Songathon, a prestigious 24-hour songwriting competition supported by the New York City Mayor’s Office, after earning his degree from NYU’s Clive Davis Institute in 2019. In 2020, he relocated to Los Angeles and started putting out music that was influenced by indie bands like The Cure, Tame Impala, Jon Bellion, and Weezer. The first single from his upcoming album, ‘Treading Water’, is the start of a string of singles that will include his eagerly awaited debut EP early the following year. However, the road hasn’t always been easy. ‘Treading Water’ is ultimately about finding your way while in your early to mid-twenties; it’s about the uncertainty that comes with it, the self-doubt, and the struggle to sometimes not only stay afloat but also know which way to swim. Writing the coming-of-age alt-rock song was particularly challenging.
