DANCING IN THE DARK by Ziggy Alberts: Album Review
Ziggy Alberts, an Australian artist has a delicate and intimate voice that puts your mind at ease. His album โDANCING IN THE DARKโ contains ten beautiful acoustic folk numbers that hit the right spot with โcozy musicโ.
The album enters the scene with โCAMPFIREโ a folksy-bluegrass-fueled adventurous tune. Ziggyโs voice is emotional and is also filled with a bright aura of hope. The subtle addition of banjos brings forth the taste of country music and it is a fine composition down to the last note. Moving forward with the track โTATTOOSโ I comprehended a more upbeat tension to the song. So, in comparison with the other peaceful acoustic numbers, this track had more of a kick to it. The main breakdown of the song, especially in the chorus section has a minimal beat that is quite groovy and Ziggyโs singing has more of a flow element here. The artistโs voice and the instrumentation of each song have a very atmospheric vibe to them. So, hearing the breathy vocals of โTHE SUN & THE SEAโ had a gripping and passionate air about it. The song felt close to your chest and hit just the right notes for oneโs soul to be calm and collected.
Nearing the end of this lovely album, I was truly allured by the musical essence of โIโM SORRYโ. Ziggy truly sings his heart here, and the pain is so visible. Each word feels like an emotion, and it has a perfect synergy with the subtle acoustic instrumental section.
