Deep Deep Love by Tony Volker: Review
Tony Volkerโs โDeep Deep Loveโ is his most recent single written right after Tonyโs father passed away and it is a reflection of his own grief. Tony Volker is a vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, mixer, and producer, and also on the programming. He is more like a multi-instrumentalist doing it all, mostly. Adam Teixeira is on the drums in this band. James Stickland is responsible for both the mastering and the recording of it. Their inspirations are Elliot Smith, The Beatles, Radiohead, and many other awesome bands and musicians.
โDeep Deep Loveโ begins with a clean, soulful electric guitar solo, and it is accompanied by the drums, an acoustic guitar rhythm, and the bass guitar. When the innocent-sounding vocal enters, it sounds a lot like Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull. The clean and precise hits from the drumming are impressive and sound simple, and the plain bass line was like wrapping the song in a blanket and giving it a sense of coherence and warmth. The vocalist possesses a dynamic sound in his singing. The song resembles the style of Radiohead and Jethro Tull with Tonyโs personal touch to it.
Overall, the song โDeep Deep Loveโ is exceptionally well composed, and its sound took me back to the rock music of the 1970s and 1980s. It had the feel of a great song perfect for cruising, and had a straightforward but powerful sound to it.
