Diving At Dawn released enthralling new song ‘Lying By Myself’
Diving At Dawn is the solo project of Pete Hobbs, best known as a member of the indie pop pioneers The Boy Least Likely To. Their most recent release is titled ‘Lying By Myself’. Diving At Dawn, which is essentially a one-man band, takes its cues from Paul McCartney’s trilogy of self-titled solo albums—McCartney I, II, and III—which served as an inspiration. Pete is responsible for all aspects of the performance, including singing, recording, and mixing.
The finished product is a gorgeous and introspective piece of music that features softly picked classical guitars, chiming pianos, and multiple layers of vocals. The song ‘Lying By Myself’ is about the end of a relationship; although the split is amicable, this does not mean that it is simple to move on.
