Amid life’s tumultuous storms, Missouri-based solo artist Bquyet emerges with his latest album, Don’t Panic. This raw and reflective rock album came straight from the artist’s struggles with anxiety and emotional turmoil and then out with triumph.
The album’s opening track, “Love Sick,” sets the tone against a backdrop of rhythmic guitar tunes and steady beats. “Love Sick” empowers with raw and raspy energy as Bquyet’s vocals cut through the mix, delivering lyrics with desperate and authentic frustrations oozing out.
Coming fourth in line is “Leave It To Me” and its glitzy electro beats setting the stage for Bquyet’s smooth transitions between singing and rapping, showcasing his calm confidence and defiance in the face of heartbreak.
“I Hate This” is a standout track for its constant attention garnered from radio stations like 105.9 Kiss FM. Bquyet’s gnarly voice exudes organic frustration. He bares his soul with vulnerability and anguish l over glinting guitar riffs and enchanting background melodies.
As the album reaches its titular track, “Don’t Panic,” Bquyet’s reflections come full circle. Soft and slow shimmering guitar riffs lay the foundation for his delicate vulnerability and lonesome resilience in his voice as he lays bare his struggles with relationships and ADHD. With clarity and nuance, he offers solace and understanding in the face of uncertainty.
Don’t Panic is Bquyet musically showing us how to be resilient and determined when confronting the world and even the mirror with our inner demons head-on with his emphatic voice and minimal instrumentals.
Listen to Don’t Panic to be reminded that even in our darkest moments, there is always light on the horizon.
