Minus32Heartbeat, aka Matt Friedlander has released an iconically calm song, “Dreams,” tributing his parenthood. Dads and moms, this one is for you!
“Dreams” has an immersive synth atmosphere that is kind of foggy and blurry enough to give that heavy inundating effect. You will feel as though you are being pulled into a void. In the distance, you can hear the gushing sounds of water swishing, but it soon disappears.
If the instrumentals aren’t meditative enough, the vocals will do the job for you. They are relaxing and sleep-inducing, as they should be! Given the title “Dreams,” you will start feeling as though you are entranced in a lucid dream. When the dreamy guitar chimes over the ambient music, the song gives more for our ears to pick up and more to catch and hold on to in our dreaming state.
The synth twinkling texture towards the end is a perfect way to bring an end to “Dreams.” This twinkling and glimmering wave really gives justice to the lullaby aura because it brings a sort of innocence to the track and really emanates a child-like ambiance. Now, why does it perfectly wrap up the song? Because it’s about Matt Friedlander’s baby and his parenthood. While you may think it’s about someone’s lover, it’s not for the singer. But then again, music is ours when we listen to it.
The context can be whatever we feel and whoever we think of when we listen to this soothing song. And “Dreams” by Matt Friedlander does this really well. So listen to it! The minimalistic production also represents his upcoming album. So stay tuned to Minus32Heartbeat’s journey.
