Earl Michael Thomas released entrancing new song ‘Deck the Halls’
A “guitar-led” instrumental called ‘Deck the Halls’ combines a traditional Christmas melody with creatively constructed chord progressions. Earl performed, created, and orchestrated this piece.
Although Earl, a Motownbred musician, has toured the world with well-known artists like Creative Source (as music director, vocal arranger, composer, and lead guitarist) and Mary Wilson and the Supremes (as a lead guitarist), he does not claim to be a musical virtuoso and instead plays contemporary Christian music in a readily recognizable style.
Musicians use melodic communication to express the thoughts that come from deep within, much like a painter does when he or she transfers the shades and colors that they see (or envision) onto a canvas.
Earl believes that genuine artists should pursue their initial musical inspiration rather than attempting to “please the masses.” In line with this conviction, he recognizes and accepts the possibility that not all listeners will be satisfied with the final product.
