Entering the Valley by Downcutting Streams: Album Review
We enter into the world of massive grand sounds, and beautiful amalgamations of unexpected instrumental symphonies with the project “Entering the Valley” by Downcutting Streams.
The first track “The Landscape of Denial” will make you feel a hymn of the mountains, luring you into an escape you’ve been waiting for you. There are strong jangly percussions, romantic guitar plucks, piano keys, and flute-like tones which all have their own solo at some point. An absolute treat, setting the standards for our expectations for this fully released album. The titles are remarkably beautiful too, all of which feature this mesmerizing melodic queen of vocals. Some of the songs like “Chasing After Fox” sound like songs out of a fairytale. The unplugged tones of toms, piano, and flute, essential components of this piece, combined with gently rising and receding waves of voice to construct a web of contemplation, fast urging the mind to travel to higher depths.
Every time you re-listen to this album, new components, such as the lyrical interpretation will catch you off guard. Each time will be different, adding more charisma to the theatrical tone. The breathy smoothness of the voice and the slightly reverbed mix all come together to create something alluring, warm, and simultaneously bone-chilling and otherworldly. “Entering the Valley” is worth at least one listen for every listener out there, so let yourself immerse in the sonic experience and wealth of a new paradise.
