NickGCherrydot returns with his 13th studio album, Every Time. This confident and introspective collection is worth of years of lived experience. Having dropped on June 12th on Spotify, iTunes, and YouTube, the album sees the British multi-instrumentalist blending the gritty energy of alt-rock with the warmth of Southern Americana and the melodic charm of Britpop. Entirely produced, performed, and mastered by Nick himself, this intimate record digs into themes like mental health, personal growth, and emotional resilience.
The opener, โCanโt You Tell,โ hits with punchy, melodic guitar riffs and an undercurrent of simmering attitude, while Nickโs animated high-register vocals bring an almost theatrical edge. Title track โEvery Timeโ slows the pace slightly, offering relaxed vocals over chiming guitar and crisp drums, as he sings of his heart racing and emotions hiding behind his blue eyes, when he sees that special someone, only they donโt know. โWhen I See You Thereโ leans into raw feeling, with thick, arrhythmic guitar strikes and an almost clenched vocal delivery that simmers with frustration. The bridge breaks into a gritty guitar churn that feels like an emotional purge.
Among the highlights is โAll I Can Change,โ a reflective anthem that manages to be both soul-baring and hopeful, while โ3 Sidesโ takes the listener on a cerebral ride with a guitar solo that unfolds like a conversation with oneself. The instrumental closer is a stripped-back version of the title track, that leaves the listener with lingering energy, the guitars still buzzing, as if the storyโs not quite over.
Every Time takes you down a rocky road of engaging tunes. Listen to it on Spotify.
