Everything Must Change by Rich Jacques: Review

Soft and subtle, ‘Everything Must Change’ by Rich Jacques captivated me to the very core. The song feels very personal, and enlightening. The vocals are rich and calming. This tranquility and rhythm that the music expressed, were so beautiful I felt blessed to hear it. The piano section is minimal and is a joy to hear. The entirety of this song encompasses the soft rock/indie genre. The chorus is my favorite part, where the title of the song is being sung, and hits you right in the feels.

‘Everything Must Change’ is an ode to time. When I heard this track, it allowed me to think about time and how it is expressed so poetically through melody. The instruments in the background are almost like a whisper, it comes close to your ears and is utter magic. The mood of the track is progressive and mellow. I truly enjoyed the pleasant tempo changes.

Rich has crafted up an impressive set of skills, like production and songwriting. This has allowed him to work with a lot of famous musicians and make music for all kinds of media projects. After moving to Los Angeles almost twenty years ago, he quickly gave up on his dream of becoming a session guitarist. Instead, he sold guitars and gave lessons. The latter, however, quickly turned into a full-time occupation, and from there he was able to network his way into having his own music licensed to a broad variety of television series and films.
