Faithless Lover by Reb Fountain: Review

“Faithless Lover” is an ethereal pop track by talented artist Reb Fountain. Her voice is pretty dreamy and connects with your soul if you let it consume you. Once you do so, her cadence will form a bond with your senses and never let go. Thus, it is the warmth and finesse of her music that make such a strong impression. Adding to that effect are deep basslines and synths that elevate Reb’s voice and create the otherworldly allure of “Faithless Lover.”

The late 20th century was such an influential period of pop music, especially those that pertained to certain “dream-like” rhythms. This is why contemporary artists have taken a liking to that timbre and incorporated it into their music. Reb’s noir-infused tone is no stranger to that aspect, and her piece “Faithless Lover” is generated by a beautiful melody in that regard. Her voice is as smooth as silk, and she’s able to enchant our ears with immense skill. The singer’s technique is intriguing; she slows things down, yet it doesn’t pertain to a lullaby; it’s more like an ambient recital that calms your heart and sets the mood just right.

Instrumentally, “Faithless Lover” evokes strong emotions, something that is truly needed in pop music nowadays. Furthermore, the cadence adds to the ethereal aspect of Reb’s voice. Altogether, it’s a pleasant tune that I keep returning to and am truly glad to have come across in the first place.
