Scottish singer-songwriter Liv Dawn is back with a sun-soaked, heart-on-sleeve anthem just in time for the summer. โFalling For You,โ dropped June 27, 2025, catches you off guard with its sincerity, and then sweeps you up in its glow. Itโs the first taste of her upcoming autumn EP.
The song kicks off gently, with soft acoustic strums wrapping around Livโs unmistakably warm voice. The music is cinematic with the way it feels like there is a sunrise over Loch Lomond (where sheโs from). Then the beat drops and hits steadily and the electric guitar comes winding down. Every instrument comes together and she starts singing more joyfully and excitedly singing about how much this person means to her and how special their bond is. The acoustic guitar vividly surrounds her voice with its thick melodic strumming and the steady beats and shimmery shaking percussions.
By the time the chorus hits, youโre right there with her, wide-eyed, smiling, and maybe even thinking about someone who makes your heart do somersaults.
Lyrically, โFalling For Youโ gets the electric giddiness of early connection, those moments when youโre still pinching yourself because this person feels that good. Itโs refreshingly earnest, filled with gratitude and hope. And thatโs no accident: Liv teamed up with a dream team of co-writers, including Kerri Watt and a trio of fellow BBC Radio Scotland Singer-Songwriter Award finalists, bringing layers of craft to every line.
With โFalling For You,โ Liv Dawn blossoms. If youโre not already keeping tabs on her, nowโs the time. Check out this lovely piece on Spotify.
