Flow by Alice June: Review
The song “Flow” starts off with a retro-styled synth and programmed beats, then enters the sweet, deep vocal of Alice June. After a while, the song becomes upbeat, and when the guitar riffs enter, it changes the feel a little but then goes back to its original form.
Alice June, a singer, and songwriter, releases her track “Flow” in 2022; her solo career started in 2021 with her first single, “Waterfall.” The song “Flow” was written using the experience of being stuck in a circumstance where we don’t know how to proceed forward and get inspiration. It is acceptable to simply let things happen and not try to control everything all of the time. When we are trying so hard to figure out how to progress with our lives, there are times when all we can do is go with the flow of the feelings, energies, and emotions that are going on both the inside and the outside of our existence.
The Grammy Award–winning sound engineer Chris Gehringer, who has also worked with Selena Gomez, Rihanna, and many other great artists was responsible for the mastering of “Flow.” Although this song is classified as indie pop with elements of EDM (electronic dance music), it has a very calming, unique, and modern tone to it. The listeners who are already fans of her work are already waiting for the release of her full-length album, and those who have not yet experienced her musical works should “Flow” into listening to it.
