Forget the Name by Express Office Portico: Review
On today’s latest music find, we’re jamming to Express Office Portico’s Indie rock-infused “Forget The Name” and confronting the nature of duality that resides within us.
It is an upbeat indie-pop soundtrack filled with a delicate wash of synthesizers, jangly guitars, and duo vocal harmonies. It begins with a guitar lick and sweeping electronic composition that will appeal to Foals fans. The rich texture created by the atmospheric synths complements the powerful, sleek guitar lines, while the rhythmic foundation provided by the drums and bass is solid, providing a great, tight platform upon which the track’s vibrant and enticing melodies can soar. And as soft, silky smooth vocals drift in, you can hear the story of overcoming one’s resistance to change.
This introspective music will have you tapping your feet, as you hear a refreshing take on such profound thoughts presented with buoyancy and ease. What stood out for us on the track is the superb delay-tinged guitar lines that weave ever-shifting licks with understated yet extremely catchy and gorgeous vocal harmonies for a sublime, complementing blend of tones. This release by this band from Nottingham is just as catchy as their previous efforts, and the many musical styles blend together beautifully. And when you come out the other end of this song, you will want to climb up the ladder for another ride because it truly leaves a rose-colored surprise to your taste buds.
