Future Plaza by The Loud Bangs: Review
The Loud Bangs, a band from Los Angeles, CA, dropped their 5-song EP Future Plaza very recently, bringing a magic of cryptic words followed by their signature synthesizer and thick guitar string work. Despite being such a young band, this discography is proof of their dedication and determination to their music.
When you compare the EP to the other discographies by the band, it conveys massive production with their typical sounds. You really have to listen closely to each song to figure out which instruments (if any) are being used in the various layers. There are little to no vocals to the electronica, with a unique head-turning shoegaze style. Since the band boasts itself of not being great with lyrics, they’re still effortless with the way they evoke emotions within listeners without actually having to throw out words. Elements such as ambient noise, distortion, recorded sound bites, synth beats, twinkles, and beeps as well as some unique twists on the style are used sparingly along this record. This is why, from the strong riffs to soft melodies and everything in between, you can hear a wide range of musical styles.
Even though The Loud Bangs have only been together as a band since 2021, they have already built a reputation for themselves by putting their own spin on the shoegaze, 90’s alternative, and dream pop scenes. Their EP, “White Witch” and “Glass Cabinet” already have videos out, so be sure to check them out for an even more immersive experience!
