Germán Roffler released catchy track ‘Entre Ríos (\unexCoder Remix)’
Germán Roffler selected this song for a remix because of its varied rhythms, the conversations between the harmonies, the echo of its folkloric roots, and the “air” it left for experimenting with textures and layering.
This remix’s creation involved several stages. In the beginning, they used EQ, Phaser, and LFO effect modules to process the drums and harmonic instruments. They also added new instruments to those tracks, including a string trio (which was later processed using the same modules), a theremin, and a synth bass in place of the original bass. Later, they added another rhythmic layer with drum samples from 1970s vinyl records as well as some hints and hits from the same era using an old rhythm machine from 1989: the AKAI MPC2000xl. The goal of this new version was to create an instrument collage that was related to the rhythmic world.
The entire process, which was very natural, inventive, and handmade, took a year. They want to share the outcome with you because they are so pleased with it. Martin Actis was in charge of the mixing and mastering.
