Golden by Fever Rouge: Review
“Golden” is a funky indie rock track by the sensational act Fever Rouge. They’re a talented bunch from the UK who’s got a knack for groovy basslines and silky-smooth guitar chords. In combination with that, a poetic singer keeps it all together, while a thumping beat gains our attention.
Fever Rouge are an intriguing band undoubtedly. Their technique and tone had a clean indie feel from the beginning of “Golden,” and I thought it’d just be like any other track from the genre. But when the bassline and drums kicked in, an aura of funk emerged and it captivated me immensely. There’s such a cool and evocative theme surrounding the song that draws you in from the very start. The songwriting and rhythmic facets are also quite impressive. Whenever the singer initiated the cadence, it always felt on point and nothing really felt out of balance from the track. It was in perfect synergy with the instruments, and such genius at work is always a lovely experience to take in.
There’s always something new and fresh in the indie music biz. A plethora of artists mix everything from hip-hop to metal in their mix, and Fever Rouge did a stellar job in blending the timbres of funk into their track “Golden.”
