There is something delightfully old-school yet fresh about DJ Xevan’s “Groove On.” The Novi Sad-based producer, born Radek Ehl, clearly understands the golden rule of tech house: if the groove locks in, the rest falls into place like dominoes. After years away from releasing music publicly, the producer returns swinging with a debut Spotify single, polished, confident, and built for dim lights, moving bodies, and those 2 a.m. moments when nobody wants the night to end.
Inspired by dance giants like Tiësto and Boris Brejcha, DJ Xevan pulls from classic club energy without sounding stuck in the past. Instead, “Groove On” balances smooth tech house with a subtle underground grit.
Right out of the gate, the track comes in hot with hard-hitting, steady beats that instantly settle into a hypnotic rhythm. The percussion sparkles and splashes around the mix while shimmering synth textures glide overhead, giving the song a slick late-night atmosphere. Then, just when the groove feels comfortably locked in, distortion starts grinding through the edges, adding bite and momentum. This progression sneaks up on you, because before you know it, your foot’s tapping and your shoulders are rolling to the beat.
What makes “Groove On” click is its refusal to overcomplicate things. DJ Xevan trusts the rhythm enough to let it breathe, and that confidence pays off big time. Made in his home studio using FL Studio, the production feels meticulous. With a chill-out smoothness running underneath the pumping energy, making the track equally fit for club systems, long night drives, or solo headphone sessions.
After a long hiatus from the decks, DJ Xevan sounds more than ready to step back into the spotlight. “Groove On” is a promising first move, and frankly, it leaves the door wide open for bigger things ahead.
