Deep Dive Species is back with their latest album, โHabitat,โ ready to take you on an underwater odyssey of epic proportions. This sophomore album is a deep dive into a world of swirling guitars, pulsating beats, and otherworldly soundscapes and healthy flow moods.
The album opens with โHabitat,โ a track that lulls you in with soothing guitar strums before pulling you under with a powerful orchestral undercurrent. Itโs like swimming through a coral reef, with vibrant colors swirling around you as the music builds with warm textures and unexpected turns.
Track four, โSalt and Water,โ propels you forward with a ticking beat. Shimmering guitar riffs cascade over the top, creating a current thatโs both irresistible and groovy. โAlways Stay With Me No More,โ on the other hand, boasts a peculiar rhythm that keeps you guessing, but the catchy melodic twirls keep you hooked. Ethereal vocal samples echo through the song like ghostly transmissions from another dimension, adding an alluring and mysterious vibe.
The album closes with โBack to Elsinore,โ which gets you descending into the deepest part of the ocean. Fuzzy guitars weave a hazy atmosphere, and warped soundwaves ripple around you like the ocean floor. Halfway through, a heavy beat emerges, steady and slow, like the rhythmic pulse of the earth itself.
Fans of Angelo Badalamenti and Tame Impala will enjoy the dark beauty and psychedelic groove. They will also be impressed by the dedication of Vadim Militsin, with him pulling self-made samples of Costa Rican field recordings to the music.
Let Deep Dive Species show you the beauty and mystery of the Habitat that goes unnoticed.
