High Tide ft. Disc Eyes by Rushkeys: Review
Downtempo and chillwave extraordinaire Rushkeys never ceases to disappoint. The musician’s sound is a blast to hear and offers a fantastic experience for each listener. Domas Ruškys AKA Rushkeys, is a talented artist with a solid take on the aforementioned genres. His tonal themes are a blend of laid-back with a groove, and with the track “High Tide,” that cadence is consistent alongside Disc Eyes’ stellar vocals.
“High Tide” enters with effects, synths, and a catchy beat. Equal amounts of mystery and resonance form in the tune, and Rushkeys shows us his artistic prowess. There’s an astounding flow to the track, and Disc Eyes’ voice plays an essential role in it. It’s got that aura of house music, albeit a softer version of it. The song paints a picture of a late-night rave, but everyone’s in the mood for intimate dancing with partners by the waist and eyes locked throughout the tune. Aside from this idea, the track itself is pretty impressive. This is brought on by its chillwave features, such as the ethereal synths and basslines. In addition to that, the beat structure is groovy, and this is where the facets of downtempo truly shine.
Disc Eyes sang their heart out in this piece, and it was a joy to hear. The singer’s energy transports you to a comfortable place, and it’s tough to exit that rhythm. Together with Rushkeys’ melodic imprint, “High Tide” becomes a complete track, one that’ll enchant you from the minute you hit play.
