Honey by Honey Dagger: Review
Honey Dagger was formed by four old high school friends, who got together with the sole aim of playing music that expressed how they were feeling in May 2020 in Nashville. The Tennessee band made indie rock through the most severe phase of the Covid outbreak.ย
โHoneyโ was the result of a year-long songwriting effort. Sweet, retro vibes permeate โHoney,โ sounding like they could have been recorded in the 1960s or 1970s. Guitar tones and enchanting tunes evoke memories of both happy and sad times, as well as easy and difficult times in oneโs life.
There are 5 songs including Eyes of Light, Cloud 9, Little Soldier, Circles, and Rift. The song โCloud 9โ is a fervent love ballad that has a lot of fire. When you realize that you have completely and utterly fallen in love with another person, you will experience a flurry of feelings. The song โCirclesโ is an epic that lasts for six minutes and explores a variety of topics, including inertia, perseverance, desperation, hope, and solitude. The pinnacle of how all of us felt as we started out on our new journey in the midst of a pandemic that was affecting the entirety of the planet. And other songs in the album are also like the journey of life containing a lot of ups and downs comparable to a roller coaster but there are together with happily tasty moments along the way like the name of the EP.
