Humanity by Jeremy Parsons: Review
“Humanity” is a spiritual song by Jeremy Parsons. His music is a reflection of society, and it’s portrayed emotionally. Altogether, the lyricism blends with an ambient melody, and it has a meditative feel. Fans who enjoy psychedelic tunes with a deep narrative will resonate with “Humanity” from beginning to end.
I admire the timbres of drone music. It has strong ties with Indian classical music, such as the Tanpura. However, in modern and contemporary forms, many musicians use effects from guitars or synths to bring out an atmospheric noise. This effect is expressed similarly throughout specific parts of “Humanity.” Other than that, serene guitar segments collide with Jeremy’s voice and form a spiritual bond worth hearing. There are some light percussions here and there, but they don’t overshadow the ambient nature of the track. Speaking of which, the ebb and flow of the tune have certain key changes. It goes from bright verse sections to a darker cadence in some areas. Hearing it filled me with joy and made me appreciate the artist’s melodic expression more and more. What elated me the most was Jeremy’s voice and visionary wordplay. This is because I enjoy hearing psychological themes depicted in the music biz.
If you’re an avid fan of the ambient genre or enjoy minimal indie music, then you’re gonna love “Humanity” by Jeremy Parsons. It’s an ideal song to introduce you to the genre, and the narrative is something we all can relate to one way or another.
