I Am Alive by Dylan Tauber: Album Review
Dylan Tauber makes lovely trance music that will soothe your soul, and make you dance at the same time. Their album “I Am Alive”, has twelve amazing tracks involving clear synthesizer melodies, beats, and serene vocals. In its essence, it’s a record for anyone who enjoys the peaceful aura of deep house, ambient, and trance.
The album enters with the powerful “Love and You Will Live”, an Armin Van Buuren-inspired melody that is a welcome start. It involves pulsating beats that carry a graceful singer’s allure. Who by the way is Vlad, a Ukranian musician. Aside from that, the flow is pretty chill and made me look forward to the rest of the album. The magic of trance music continued with “Spirit Guides”, an intimate dance song perfect for candlelit dinners at the beachside. The vocals accompany a bit of shoegaze and blend excellently with the EDM-style synths and basslines. Next up is the title track “I Am Alive”, which brings to the table a psychedelic sound to the album. It’s an atmospheric number with minimal vocals and synths that have a trippy space tone.
As mentioned earlier, the album has ambient textures apart from its usual trance melodies. This places us with tracks such as “Rebirth”, “Warm”, and “Carmen.” Each of these three songs has symphonic synths attached, and the melody follows a drone pattern. The sounds are quite enchanting to hear and have a cinematic flair as well.
