I Don’t Like The Rain by Claire Littley: Review
With decades of experiences manifested, jazz has moved past being just a genre of music, it is a feeling that can’t be aligned according to melodic will. Ever heard of a mind-bending anime known as Neon Genesis Evangelion? Well, Claire Littley is such a sensational musician that her version of “Fly me to me moon” was featured in the anime! Now, that’s a class act, and an impressive I must say as I’m a big anime fanatic myself. But now, we witness the artist’s magical voice present itself in “I Don’t Like The Rain”.
Layered with a fat bass line that sends vibrations to your chest, and a moody piano melody, the track feels like an enriching and polished one at that. It is quite stellar how Claire’s voice has a distinct style where it moves along with the instrumental change of the song, the flow is quite natural. The length of jazz creatively expressed on the track I Don’t Like The Rain is perfect to align with your mood to allow groove into your life. So, with such a funky bridge section there is no doubt all your sorrowful thoughts shall be washed away with the prominent rain mentioned in the track.
I Don’t Like The Rain is the collective consciousness of jazz and a bluesy angle to give it a more magnetic pull. As mentioned before, Claire’s flawless performance in the nostalgic anime indicates that without a doubt her existence in jazz shall be timeless.
