In Decadence And Disarray by Parjam Parsi: Album Review
Parjam Parsi, an Armenian pianist and composer shares his piano work on the album “In Decadence and Disarray.”
The album is a personal reflection on the composer’s relationship with his mother and the environment she inhabited. The album will transport you as its listeners to a warm, impressionistic, and evocative acoustic world with its rich atmosphere and impassioned storytelling. The composition is delicate and unusual, showcasing Parjam Parsi’s creativity and mastery. Every song on this album paints a different picture of elegance and beauty. It’s actually quite rare to find these days! Very few performers can do what this album has the ability to do. “One October Day” is a gloomy musical narrative with a story of intention and music of a ticking-clock beat. Another song seems to feature a textured, impressionistic scenario, called “The Water and The Blood” which captures an ordinary moment, valuable like the everyday warm sun.
The 8 Full-length tracks of the album “In Decadence and Disarray” will give you 30 minutes of joy and peace. One thing that is outstanding about it is Parjam Parsi’s intense skills on the piano. It will move you to another dynamic, as he presses each key with finesse, filling the room with a reverberation that is crisp. It makes you feel like you’re right there in the recording studio with the musicians, experiencing everything they’re feeling too in the moment.
