Foundry Town Survivors bring emotional baggage to their latest track, “In My Dreams,” with the narrator grieving over a hard loss. The track starts off with thrumming drums and a curving guitar tune, immediately setting the track for a groovy melody that sets the song for a lighter take on suffering instead of going down a dark and heavy road. This invites casual music fans to enjoy the rhythm.
The layered high vocals add emotional and musical diversity to the bluesy low-laying heavy riffs, enhancing the song’s soulful feel with a wider soundscape. As the song progresses, you can’t help but feel the raw emotion behind every word.
With verses like “My heart is broken/Down on my knees/Faith is gone/And it shakes me” the blues earth out the suffering that follows loss in the early stages of the grieving period. The lines bring a melancholic lyrical mood complementing that of the heavy guitar tunes. Vocals soaring in the chorus mimicking the altitudinal effect of “lightning in the sky” pull the song’s waves to the rocky shores.
The duo, Mark Tomorsky and Tommy Johnsmiller have together put down an introspective flair to the flawless production. With Paul Crowder as their video director, their music video is just as well-made with the cinematography, color grading, and video angles all being top-notch.
Foundry Town Survivors have crafted a track that’s emotionally charged and musically impressive, making it a must-listen for all music lovers.
