San Sebastian continues to shape his postโIdol identity with โIn My Dreams,โ released on November 21, 2025, and it feels like a confident step deeper into his own emotional world. Best known to many as Sebastian Rydgren from Swedish Idol 2022, where he became a fan favorite and finished fourth, the now 22-year-old artist has clearly used the time since to sharpen his voice, writing, and direction. Picked up early on by jury chairman and hitmaker Anders Bagge, San Sebastian has been quietly building a more personal, modern pop sound, and this second single from his upcoming EP shows that evolution taking hold.
โIn My Dreamsโ centers on the temptation of escape, choosing fantasy over reality when the real world starts knocking too loudly. The production opens with immersive, warm sound floating dreamily. Tapping beats slip in gently, anchored by a deeper bass that keeps everything grounded even as the song drifts upward. San Sebastianโs husky vocal delivery comes in light and relaxed, carrying the melody with an easy, effortless charm. Thereโs a catchiness to the phrasing that sneaks up on you, like a thought you keep returning to.
As the track unfolds, the mood stays suspended between comfort and tension. He sings about shutting everything out, closing his eyes, and protecting a perfect version of love that only exists in his head. You can hear the push and pull between knowing the fantasy wonโt last and wanting to stay there anyway. That emotional contradiction is where the song really lives. The vocals never overreach; instead, they glide over the production, reinforcing the sense of drifting through a dream you donโt want to wake up from.
Written by Sebastian Rydgren alongside Molly Rosenstrรถm and Tobias Kihlman, who also produced the track, โIn My Dreamsโ comes across as cohesive and intentional. Following Octoberโs โImaginary Lover,โ it strengthens the narrative San Sebastian is building around illusion, longing, and emotional escape.
